1. Pottery Fair

It’s always good to learn something new and this weekend you can learn something new about pottery. The Pottery Fair is a two-day fair featuring original handmade studio pottery from 20 London Potters group members. Don’t be afraid to jump in and perhaps take a piece of pottery art away for your home.

2. Labyrinth of Lost Stories

If you are a looking for the perfect place for free family activities Crystal Palace Park is a good place to start. This weekend let your kids explore the secrets of this maze but only if they’re ready – the Labyrinth hides a lot of spooky mysteries! If your children get scared easily you can always cheer them up with some ice-cream and lots of other fun games and amusements at Crystal Palace Park.

3. King’s Cross Canal Festival

There is no doubt that King’s Cross Canal Festival will be amazing – with live music, circus performances, river tours and a lot of delicious food and drink to enjoy. Grab your friends and family and be ready for a whole day of fun.

Love liquorice allsorts? This street art festival is taking Britain’s favourite sweet brand: Bassett’s sweet treats into large-scale art. If you’re ready to see the Mona Lisa made of sweets head to the Sweet Art Gallery in Soho and indulge your sweet tooth while you’re at it.

5. Wimbledon Guild Village Fair

The story of a Noble Knight and the beautiful Lady comes to life at Wimbledon Guild Village Fair this weekend. Discover an age-old sport and watch some live jousting matches at the fair, whilst tasting food from the 30 food villages available.

The Ice House Gallery in Holland Park is being used for an annual programme of exhibitions running from April to September, where you are guaranteed to find some fascinating works of art. This Sunday you can catch this exhibition from a contemporary trio of artists showcasing their works of life, loss and remembrance.

10. Street Party at Cally Festival
18 June
The seventh annual Cally Festival is coming to town! Catch brand new talent on the main stage in the form of a range of performances, including dance, theatre and comedy. And don’t forget to bring your comfy shoes with you, because a street party will unfold as the sun goes down!

11. Mini Safari

This Mini Safari is held in conjunction with Open Garden Squares Weekend. Kids will love to learn how to spot birds and wildlife in Keats’s House garden and will even learn how to create a bug hotel in their own back garden!

12. Children’s Art Week

Children can sometimes teach us adults how to let go and live for the moment. At the National Portrait Gallery, this weekend kids are invited to create their own animation with award-winning animator Lizzy Hobbs! So join your kids and learn how to draw, create and reconnect with your playful side.

13. Little Festival Sunday Sessions

Dreaming of Ibiza? Why dream about it when you can simulate it? This Sunday, join the House Party at the Little Festival Sunday Sessions! The line-up is pretty impressive for anyone who loves House music – Lewis Jimenez and August Five will be there to chill you out with soothing basslines.

14. Gay UK: Love, Law and Liberty

Pride is coming to London and the best way to celebrate its homecoming is to spend a day journeying into the past to learn about the history behind the celebration. Take a look through the old journals and posters from the Gay Liberation Front and learn something new about LGBT history with the British Library’s brilliant new show.

15. Dulwich Pavilion: Free Friday Lates

This one is perfect if you feel like cancelling your elaborate plans for tonight in favour of chilling out and absorbing a bit of culture. Getting sick of bars and pricey restaurants? Then head to the Dulwich Picture Gallery where a series of themed Friday Late events are being held.

16. Free Jerk Chicken at Cottons
19 June
Four words – free jerk chicken wings. If you are into this, then be ready this Monday lunchtime because Cottons is offering free jerk chicken wings and barbeque pork ribs to its first 200 customers. Take some running classes this weekend so that when opening time comes on Monday morning you will be ready and waiting at the Cotton’s door.

17. InTransit Festival

Explore the world of unexpected art! InTransit Festival is a celebration of newly commissioned, site-specific artworks within the area of Kensington and Chelsea. Browse the full event programme and pick something that will surely touch your soul with inspiration.

18. Museum of London Docklands’ Tunnel exhibition
Until September 3
8000 years of unknown human history will be revealed at The Museum of London Docklands by the exhibition Tunnel: The Archaeology of Crossrail. You will be the first to see the most interesting artefacts – a Tudor wooden bowling ball or 19th-century ceramic jars. The exhibition will be open until September – you mustn’t miss this one!
