Last month, Splento Photographers-on-Demand joined the world-renowned charity, The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) on their campaign tour. The organisation is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals. They work to educate policymakers and the general public about cruelty to animals through research, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement and protest campaigns around the world.
Their recent street campaign saw two vegan ambassadors, tour Russia, Romania and Turkey and teach passers-by about the benefits of leading a vegan lifestyle. Dressed in costumes made out lettuce leaves, the aptly named ’Lettuce Ladies’ were photographed by Splento during their street displays in St Petersburg and Moscow. PETA’s aim was for us to capture the interactions between the ambassadors and members of the public, as well as the associated promotional materials, in order to showcase the campaign to their audience. They did this by using the finished photos in a blog post, newsletters and a social media campaign.
